American Samoa Participates in the 3-Day Envisory Pacific Partnership Energy Conference held in Auckland, New Zealand

AUCKLAND, New Zealand — The Office of Disaster Assistance & Petroleum Management (ODAPM) represented the American Samoa Government this week at the 3‑Day Envisory Pacific Partnership Energy Conference (EPPEC) 2026, held under the theme “Energy Resilience – Strengthening Supply, Standards, and Security in the Pacific.
Director and Chief Petroleum Officer Lologa Olo and Petroleum Officer/OPM Manager Eleanor Sataua joined regional energy leaders, regulators, and industry experts to discuss shared challenges and opportunities shaping the Pacific’s energy future.

EPPEC 2026 centered on five priority areas critical to long‑term regional stability, Energy Security advancing reliable and affordable access to fuel and electricity. Infrastructure Standards improving safety and performance of storage and distribution systems. Commercial Storage Arrangements expanding shared infrastructure to reduce costs. Bulk Procurement & Fuel Hedgingstrengthening cooperative purchasing and risk‑management frameworks. Lastly, Regulatory & Market Reforms enhance transparency, pricing oversight, and competitive markets.
Director Olo highlighted American Samoa’s strong standing in the region, stating, “I am pleased to report that American Samoa surpasses most Pacific Islands in developing energy infrastructure, managing wholesale fuel pricing, and ensuring compliance with EPA standards. Most importantly, we maintain resilient fuel security capable of withstanding emergencies and natural disasters”.
ODAPM’s participation reinforces American Samoa’s commitment to regional collaboration and continued investment in a secure, reliable, and resilient energy future.
