An Open House Ceremony was held for the Governor’s Office at its
New Temporary Location at the Former ANZ Building in Fagatogo

FAGATOGO, American Samoa – An open house ceremony was held the morning of August 25, 2025 to officially inaugurate the temporary relocation of the Governor’s Office to the former ANZ building in Fagatogo. The event began with an invocation by Reverend Iasepi Ulu of the CCCAS Fagatogo, setting spirit of gratitude and blessing for this new chapter.
In his opening remarks, Governor Pulaali’i expressed his profound appreciation to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) office and the Department of Administrative Services for their dedicated efforts in completing this important project. Governor Pulaali’i recognized the project’s importance, affirming it as a clear reflection of the Office to enhance public services. He acknowledged the presence of government officials and distinguished guests, reinforcing the milestone achieved by a collaborative effort.
Administrative Services Director Tanya Ma’o-Aab delivered special remarks, providing background on the development of the facility. During her address, she acknowledged several individuals who were instrumental in the success of the project and its construction. Director Tanya Ma’o-Aab acknowledged Executive Advisor for Operations, Mr. Andrew Pelesasa, for his pivotal role in coordinating and unifying the efforts that led to the successful completion of the project. She recognized Mr. Dave Haleck for facilitating the introduction to Mr. Andrew Craig, whose construction company was awarded the contract. The renovation project was successfully completed under the leadership of Andrew Craig and his team, which was impressively completed within fifty-three days.

Director Ma’o-Aab also conveyed her thanks to the ARPA Director Mr. Puiali’i John James Faumuina for his partnership, noting that the project was made possible through ARPA funding totaling $3.4 million. In closing, she recognized Chief Procurement Officer, Mr. Frederick Ledoux for his support and dedication throughout the process. Andrew Craig representing Craig’s Construction, the contractor for the project, shared his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the government and the people through this undertaking. He emphasized the team’s dedication to delivering quality work and expressed their pride in contributing to a project that strengthens public infrastructure and benefits the people of American Samoa.



Ta’afua Ta’afua of the Department of Public Works presented the Certificate of Occupancy to Director Ma’o-Aab, who in turn presented it to Governor Pulaali’i in a ceremonial handover. The presentation marked a significant milestone in the project’s completion, representing the building’s readiness for use and the collaborative efforts of all departments involved.
The highlight of the ceremony was the official ribbon-cutting by First Lady Lois Pula, symbolizing the opening of the Governor’s Office temporary location. Following the program, esteemed guests and members of the public were welcomed to tour the facility and view the newly renovated offices.
