Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala attends Blessing Ceremony for
New DHSS Building

UTULEI, American Samoa - The Department of Human and Social Services (DHSS) held a special blessing ceremony on the morning of September 19, to commemorate the opening of its newly constructed building. The event was graced by the presence of Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala Ae Ae Jr., who delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of American Samoa.

 

The ceremony began with an invocation led by Reverend Tisega Mariner of the Methodist Church in Fagatogo. DHSS Director Panisia Neueli welcomed attendees and offered her gratitude to the many individuals and organizations who contributed to the successful completion of the project.

Director Neueli extended special recognition to Director of ARPA, Puialii John James Faumuina, whose support and guidance were instrumental in securing funding and resources through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). She emphasized that the new building will strengthen the department’s mission to serve the people of American Samoa with dignity, compassion, and efficiency. She also acknowledged the dedication and craftsmanship of the general contractors who oversaw the building’s renovation.

Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala delivered special remarks, commending Director Neueli and her staff for their resolute commitment to enhancing the department’s infrastructure. He congratulated the department for providing quality services to the people of American Samoa and expressed his well wishes for the continued success and prosperity of DHSS. The Lieutenant Governor also encouraged continued collaboration across departments and stakeholders, upholding the administration’s commitment to investing in projects that directly benefit the people of American Samoa.
