Graduation Commencement for the 30th Police Academy

UTULEI, American Samoa - In a proud and significant moment for the territory, the 30th Police Academy Graduation Ceremony was held on the morning of October 3 at the Governor Rex Lee Auditorium. The event marked the culmination of months of rigorous training and dedication by 62 cadets who now join the ranks of American Samoa’s law enforcement community.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula and First Lady Lois Pula, Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala Ae Ae Jr., Senate President Tuaolo Manaia Fruean, Speaker of the House Savali Talavou Ale, Samoan Consul General Fata Brian Kaio, members of the Senate and House of Representatives, and hundreds of proud families and friends who gathered to honor the graduating class.
Public Safety Commissioner Taagaai’afeai S. Moliga opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks, followed by hymns performed by the graduating cadets. Reverend Elder Faataa Eleasaro led the invocation, setting a solemn and reverent tone for the proceedings. The Honorable Chief Associate Judge Mamea Salā administered the oath of office, officially inducting the cadets into their roles as officers of the law.
Governor Pulaali’i delivered heartfelt remarks, emphasizing the importance of family support and the values that define true service. “I want to recognize the families, your encouragement and sacrifices have been the foundation of their success,” he said. “As you take on the duties of law enforcement and public safety, I ask you to hold onto this truth: ‘Bravery is not the absence of fear, but action in the face of fear.’ Fear is a natural part of the unknown, but true courage comes from choosing to act with integrity, discipline, and commitment even when challenges arise. That is the heart of service, and that is what will define your careers.”
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates, special awards, and the Department of Public Safety’s recognition of ranks. Applause and cheers filled the auditorium as each cadet stepped forward, marking the beginning of their journey in public service.
Congratulations to the graduating class of the 30th Police Academy. May your careers be guided by honor, courage, and commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
