Blessing and Opening Ceremony Held for New LBJ Operating Rooms

FAGA’ALU, American Samoa - The LBJ Tropical Medical Center celebrated a milestone in its ongoing commitment to healthcare excellence with the blessing and official opening of its newly renovated operating rooms. The ceremony brought together hospital leadership, medical professionals, and government officials in a shared moment of celebration.

Acting Governor Pulumataala Ae Ae Jr. joined the LBJ Hospital Board, alongside a dedicated community of doctors, nurses, and hospital employees, to commemorate the occasion. The brief but meaningful ceremony was led by LBJ Hospital Board Member, Representative Faimealelei Allen and opened with spiritual guidance from LBJ Chaplain Tumau Petaia.

In his remarks, Acting Governor Pulumataala commended the hospital for its tireless efforts to improve infrastructure and elevate the standard of care for the people of American Samoa. “This is the direction we are proud to pursue together,” he stated. “Seeing great things happen for the betterment of our island is a shared vision and today is a testament to that.”

 

The new operating rooms represent a major step forward in LBJ’s mission to provide safe, modern, and effective surgical care. The Lieutenant Governor encouraged the LBJ Board and all present to continue pushing forward with initiatives that strengthen the health system and serve the needs of the community.
