American Samoa Community College (ASCC) Holds
Welcome Assembly for 2025 Fall Semester

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa — On August 11, 2025, the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) hosted its Welcome Back Assembly to mark the beginning of the 2025 Fall Semester. The event was attended by Governor Pulaali‘i Nikolao Pula, ASCC Board Members, faculty, and staff. Reverend Iasepi Ulu delivered the opening invocation, setting a warm and reflective tone for the gathering.
In her opening remarks, ASCC President Dr. Rosevonne Pato expressed her deep appreciation to the college’s instructors and staff for their dedication and hard work, both in previous years and as they embark on the new semester. She encouraged all educators to use their time wisely, make a meaningful impact on their students, and “always teach from the heart.”
Governor Pulaali‘i, in his special address, extended heartfelt gratitude to instructors not only at ASCC but across the entire territory. Sharing personal reflections, the Governor spoke of his father’s experience as a teacher, noting the challenges of the profession both then and now. He affirmed his deep respect for educators and his commitment to supporting and advancing the territory’s education system. Echoing Dr. Pato’s sentiments, the Governor encouraged all to “always teach from the heart” and wished ASCC a successful and fulfilling academic year.
Following the assembly, ASCC conducted institutional workshops for the remainder of the day. Later in the week, the college will host orientations for both new and continuing students to prepare them for the semester ahead.
